Dental Checkups
During your dental appointment we check several things, not just your teeth. We examine the head and neck, record medical and social histories and relevant disease risk factors. We look at the teeth, gums and soft tissues and we decide if any x-rays are required, and we advise you on our findings. This is followed by a discussion with the you on treatment options and once agreed a written treatment plan can be provided showing what will be undertaken and all costs involved. We always encourage you to bring a chaperone or someone whose decision you value when making important decisions.
Recently, new NICE guidelines state a patient should be placed into a risk category and then assigned an appropriate recall interval. This means a patient who frequently suffers from dental disease is seen more often than a patient who is dentally fit, meaning tailored care for every patient.

Fillings
Fillings are the cornerstone of dentistry. At Dental-Clinique we place all types of fillings. These include metal fillings and tooth coloured fillings. Historically, white fillings were poor wearing however, due to advancements in the field and with us using the latest techniques they are just as hard wearing as metal fillings.

Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is the process of lightening teeth using a bleaching agent. There are two methods, in office bleaching and take home bleaching. At the practice we offer both methods to ensure we meet your needs. On average patients teeth improve by several shades, the process from initial consultation to the last visit usually takes several weeks, and over this time the teeth gradually lighten in colour to the desired shade. Some patients respond slower to bleaching than others and may require further treatment.

Dental Extractions
Sometimes despite best efforts it is inevitable that a tooth has to be extracted. At Dental-Clinique we understand that it is not a pleasant procedure and we endeavour to extract the tooth quickly and painlessly. Post operative checks are done to ensure there is no further bleeding from the site.
Before the extraction is carried out patients are advised of the possible replacement options, these can include a denture, bridge or dental implant.
Root Canal Treatment
This is a procedure designed to treat infection within the tooth and is an alternative to an extraction, allowing the tooth to be saved. The procedure is complex but worthwhile and takes time to be done correctly. We employ the latest methods and technology to make the procedure as quick and effective as possible.

Crowns & Bridges
Crowns are used to restore the structural integrity of a tooth which is too broken down for a conventional filling. They are also used to increase the structural integrity after a tooth has had root canal treatment.
Bridges are like crowns but span gaps where there are no teeth. They are a fixed option, meaning they don't need to be removed like dentures. There are many different types of bridges, and designs are varied. At Dental-Clinique we aim to provide the patient with the most aesthetic and hygienic bridge whilst taking into account the preservation of tooth tissue.

Veneers
Veneers consist of a thin layer of either porcelain or white filling material placed over a tooth surface to either improve its appearance or protect it.

Dentures
At Dental-Clinique we construct many different types of dentures including: full and partial plastic dentures, metal partial dentures and flexible partial dentures.
Recent advancements in the field have now allowed for implant retained/supported dentures where dental implants are used with connectors to increase the retention of dentures.

Referral
We are able to refer you for the best possible care where necessary either within our group of practices or to a specialist of your choice.
